Hormonal Imbalance

Hormonal Imbalance

It’s all about the hormones. Hormones are chemical secretions produced by the endocrine glands. Hormones regulate and control every activity in the human body. They tell the body what to do and how to respond in different situations. They control simple tasks such as sweating, shivering to more elaborate functions such as reproduction and emotional stability.

The five major hormones that control female fertility are:

*Follicle Stimulating Hormone

*Luteinizing Hormone

*Progesterone

*Estrogen

*Estradiaol

An imbalance happens when there is an excess or insufficiency of any of the hormones in the body. When this happens, there is an inconsistent and rapid change of these chemicals in the system which the body finds difficult to adjust to. For example an excess of testosterone (a male hormone) in a woman’s body would cause facial hair, and an enlargement of the adam’s apple.s

Taking synthetic hormones, high stress levels, exposure to toxic chemicals, and not getting enough sleep are some of the causes of hormonal imbalance

*Irregular or painful periods

*Unexplained weight gain

*Increased hair growth on the face or neck

*Deepening of the voice
